作戦変更が（多分）必要な件

　そう言えば今年の招待状を見るとGeneral Paperの方は要約だけで、Specialized Paperの方に50問の多肢式問題になってるような書き方がされてるように見える・・・。にも関わらず国連広報センター（UNIC)のYPP情報だと、

Q：筆記試験はどのような内容ですか。

A：筆記試験は2部構成となっています。

• 一般筆記：全職種共通で、あなたの国際問題に関する知識と文書作成能力を問うものです。問題は消去法で、英語またはフランス語で受験できます。
• 専門筆記：あなたの希望職種に関する実質的な知識と分析的思考を問うものです。国連公用語6カ国語のいずれかで受験できます。

　とか書かれてて、去年行われた試験形式のままである。YPPのページの文章だと、

Q: What is the structure of the written examination?

The written examination consists of two papers:

• The General Paper, which is the same for all job families, tests your drafting abilities and/or your knowledge of international affairs; this part can be drafted in either English or French.
• The Specialized Paper, which tests your substantive knowledge corresponding to the job family you are taking the exam in and your analytical thinking; it can be taken in any of the six UN official languages.

という感じで、"knowledge of international affairs"に関する問題が問われる可能性を示唆している。

　しかし、実際に届いた招待状だと、

Exam Format/Content:

As advertised, the examination in each job family will consist of a General Paper and a

Specialized Paper. The General Paper is the same for all job families and applicants will be　asked to summarize a text. The Specialized Paper varies by job family, and consists of the

following:

Finance: 50 multiple choice questions, 3 mandatory essays, and 6 short questions;

Administration: 50 multiple choice questions, 2 mandatory essays, and 10 out of 12 short

questions;

Public Information: 50 multiple choice questions, 2 mandatory essays, and 5 short questions

Statistics: 50 multiple choice questions, 1 mandatory essay, and 8 short questions,

Legal: 50 multiple choice questions and 3 out of 6 essays.

と書かれていて、General Paperの方はサマリー問題だけとも解釈可能な記述がされている。

そしてついにYPPの公式ページでも明確に

The General Paper 

* is the same for all job families, and 
* applicants will be asked to summarize a text. 
* Maximum score for General paper (summary): 150 points 


The Specialized Paper 

* is different for each job family in both substance and format. 
* All Specialized Papers include 50 multiple choice questions which will serve as first eliminatory portion. 
* In case of a large number of candidates, certain parts of the Specialized Papers other than the multiple choice questions may also be eliminatory.

　と記述され、マークシート方式のテストはGeneral Paperではなく、Specialized Paperの方でやることになった（らしい）と言及された。昨年度に比べてこれは大きな変更と言って良いと思う。つまり、俺が去年のPoliticaｌ Affairsの試験後の感想で書いたような国連組織の一般的な理解よりは、今年のテストでは各専門分野の知識を問われる問題として、マークシート方式のテストが使われる可能性があるということだ。
　毎年YPP試験の形式は変更されているようなので、実際12月3日に受験してみないと分からないが、個人的にはこれは受験者にとって対策しやすくなった変更だと思う。試験当日に去年と同じでGeneral Paperに課されていたマークシート問題がそのままSpecialized Paperの方に移されただけ、ということになると困るのだが・・・。まあ、何より3か月ぐらい前に言って欲しかったわけであるが。各国40位以内の猛者ならこの変化ぐらい対応してみせろということなのだろうか。
